Our Journey - Local Roots with National Impact

Sarah Edwards founded BWIT Solutions in 2017 to help State universities and small independent farms secure Federal grants. Those early efforts enabled farms to expand operations and strengthened local communities. Community building has served as the enduring thread throughout the company’s evolution from grassroots support to enterprise impact.

Sarah brings a distinctive blend of experiences that fuel BWIT’s strengths in opportunity identification and execution. After graduating from the University of South Carolina and launching her career as a television news journalist, she joined a Wall Street research firm. There she honed institutional analysis and capital market dynamics. Sarah then channeled that expertise into the Defense and State contractor arena, where she led capture initiatives, authored winning proposals, crafted bid strategies, and drove business development programs. The fusion of market insight and practical contracting leadership equips BWIT to help clients spot and seize the exact drivers that generate competitive advantage and investment in government markets.

Sarah next contributed to national defense by assisting the United States Marine Corps with in-theater mobile command center deployments. That service enabled her to cultivate a broad network spanning Federal Defense agencies, prime contractors, and senior decision-makers. Those enduring relationships enhance BWIT’s capacity to navigate the complete contracting lifecycle with perspective gained only through trusted, high-level connections.

The State of South Carolina later recruited Sarah to direct prominent cybersecurity and incident response efforts. Her direct role in a major, widely publicized cyber incident exposed serious shortfalls in governance, risk management, and compliance among contractors and agencies. That experience drove BWIT’s expansion into IT compliance, CMMC certification preparation, governance, risk, and compliance services.

BWIT Solutions has grown from community-focused grant assistance for small farms into a strategic partner that empowers entire businesses to expand portfolios, transform regulatory demands into competitive strengths, and secure profitable growth across State and Federal markets. The founding commitment to community building now creates wider economic benefits, job generation, and national resilience.
